Added: 14.08.2015 13:18 | 51 views | 0 comments

GR-UK writes: British metal band Iron Maiden debuted their latest track this morning, and the official video is a heavy nod to some of video gaming's greats. Speed of Light, the first release off their upcoming new album Book of Souls, sees their long-term mascot Eddie transformed into pixels and yanked into arcade machines, skipping through multiple game eras as he goes, becoming a character in a variety of titles that look similar to the likes of Donkey Kong and Call of Duty.

Bowser and Donkey Kong Changed My Mind on Skylanders Superchargers

At E3, there's usually at least one moment where I see something at the corner of the eye and skip it due to time constraints, but deep in the back of my mind, I know it eventually will come raging back to the surface with a vengeance. And this year, that was Bowser and Donkey Kong for Skylanders Superchargers. I'm as surprised by this as you are.

With all the true-to-life franchises on the market, Skylanders had drifted somewhere to the back of the pack and Superchargers' introduction of vehicles was interesting but not as enticing as Disney Infinity, Lego Dimensions, and Nintendo's popular amiibos. Then came the announcement of Dark Bowser and Dark Donkey Kong at Comic-Con, and the news that both Bowser and Donkey Kong will actually make a crossover and function both as an amiibo and as a Skylander. Oh no, it's happening.

Love at first sight: Unravel and Yoshis Woolly World

Added: 23.07.2015 15:18 | 59 views | 0 comments

SoS writes: Hype is nothing new to the game industry, especially when its centered around something so noticeable as art style. But for every Donkey Kong Country there is a Clay Fighter. Every Viewtiful Joe has its Killer 7. Remember when people were talking about Ryse: Son of Rome? Seems so long ago, but it did happen. Yeah, occasionally we get the dud, but it doesnt seem to really matter. Like birds and shiny objects, we cant resist the sparkle. After all, its hard to see past the glitz when all you get is a highlight reel. Keeping that in mind, both Unravel and Yoshis Woolly World would seem to have a bit more to prove.

Tembo The Badass Elephant Review: Retro Rampage | WASDuk

Added: 21.07.2015 9:18 | 59 views | 0 comments

Gareth from WASDuk reviews TEMBO THE BADASS ELEPHANT "TEMBO THE BADASS ELEPHANT is what I call a Ronseal game you get exactly what it says on the tin; in this case the adventures of a badass elephant. Inspired by the mascot driven platformers of the 16-bit era, GAME FREAKs latest creation looks like the bastard child of Babar and Rambo, but handles like a cross between Donkey Kong and Sparkster from Rock Knight Adventures."
